What is Tradefy SaaS

For your sales staff Tradefy is a Multichannel trading system, both online and offline, including automated order processing, warehouse and stock management, listings management.

History

The beginning of the Tradefy warehouse software was laid in 2016 with the opening of the fulfilment centre in Germany.
Setting up a fullfillment warehouse located thousands of miles away, in a country with significantly higher wage levels and rental rates, necessitates the corresponding conditions:

  • processing of both small-sized and large-sized products.
  • remote access and control over staff work.
  • minimum number of employees in the warehouse.
  • optimal use of storage space.
  • minimal expenditure on computer equipment – standard, widely available desktop computers, laptops, printers and barcode readers.
  • simple and clear procedures that allow low-skilled labour to work.
  • full range of activities carried out in the fulfilment warehouse – receiving goods, processing orders, processing returns, etc.
  • The center’s customers needed to receive real-time information on item availability, sales data, returns, and an easy way to schedule deliveries.

In other words, a full-fledged warehouse for processing on-line sales, operating almost without control with minimal staff, cheap equipment, but high labor productivity.

In order to achieve the goals, software, comprehensive space organization and strict procedures had to be established.

  • warehouse space – for optimal management, the warehouse is divided into areas for small items – racks with crates, for medium-sized items – racks on two levels and for large-sized products – pallets on the floor of the rack.
  • stacking – the height of the stacking is essential.
    Each product must be accessible and within arm’s reach, any other solution involves time/people/money.
  • Its software creation was entrusted to a team with experience in similar projects, but unlike normal programmers, they were also physically involved in the processes from the preparation of the goods to the delivery to the couriers.
  • Hardware – 2 workstations for goods receiving, packaging and labelling with one desktop computer, printer for bills of lading, barcode printer and barcode reader.

    The software is operating system independent so both Windows and Linux PCs are used.
  • Procedures – every procedure in the warehouse is programmed and controlled by the software, time controls are used to exclude the human factor and allow people without qualifications and education to work at the same pace as experienced workers.

Result two workers reached 250 completed orders per hour.

New direction

The fulfillment center customers appreciated Tradefy’s ease of use and efficiency and asked to use the software in their own warehouses.
Following the procedures in the code and minimal help from us, they implemented it and started using it in their daily operations.

The specifics of their business overlapped 90% with that of the full-film cents, but of course there was also a need to add some new procedures.
The programming team handled this task, and it was absolutely free for Tradefy SaaS customers as these are additions that are in and interest of the software development.

Strategic partnership

As of mid-March 2023, Fullhouse Manufacturing Sofia has begun implementing Tradefy SaaS in its operations.

Of course, like everything else, working in Bulgaria has its specifics:

  • while in Europe sales are made through the platforms of Amazon, Ibey and Shopify in Bulgaria use their own online stores of multiple CMSs, for which we added Cloud cart, Convert builder, Emag, Woocomers, Opencart and others in our portfolio of integrations.
  • there are also peculiarities with couriers, unlike other fulfillment centers here because of the imposed payments, the bills of lading are issued from the customer’s account, and again our developers have managed, adding integrations of Direx, Econt, Speedy, IMP, Post One and others.

The implementation of Tradefy SaaS depends on the size of your warehouse and the number of items you operate with.

A typical procedure includes:

  • import of your product list.
  • “hooking” your online stores to Tradefy integrations.
  • “hooking up” the couriers you work with.
  • create a map of your warehouse including halls, aisles and locations.
    Numbering of stacks and storage locations.
  • revision of goods by the locations where they are located or import of stocks for quick start and subsequent revision and assignment to specific stock items.

Lead time according to warehouse volume and staff willingness to do the work.

Abbreviated procedure:

  • Online store setup with Tradefy integrations.

Start-up time 2 days.
This is a new procedure we have introduced to avoid the initial staff workload leading to unwatched and delayed implementation work.
The essential point in this case is that the warehouse continues to operate “normally” and the warehouse optimization is done gradually as the ongoing activities are performed.

Timeframe for implementation:
  • Preparation and creation of acount, import of items, setup of integrations and couriers is done within one day.
  • staff training – the simplicity of the procedures allow them to be learned on the job with minimal assistance.
  • Revision, this is the most time consuming process, but Tradefy SaaS allows two approaches – full revision and stock take, and revision as you go – in which case traders incrementally increase the orders fulfilled through Tradefy, and the warehouse performs stock take as they are fulfilled.
  • Stock import – for faster effect and ease of work we have implemented a procedure replacing the revision, the entry of the goods into the warehouse is done via a file, and the work on the positioning on the spot is done in the course of normal work once the staff gains enough confidence with Tradefy.

Equipment.
The number of jobs depends on the scale of your business.
In general, the following areas should be provided as features:

  1. Workplace for receiving, and preparing shipments.It requires:
  • desktop computer with monitor or laptop, no requirements to be new and very powerful, and for a specific operating system.
  • printer for printing the bills of lading – thermal printer with a page width of about 10 cm / with a larger load we recommend to have a peel-off label /.
  • a printer for printing barcodes, it is desirable to have it separate from the one for the bills of lading, but one can be used by changing the paper.
  • barcode scanner has no requirement to be cable-free, the main thing is to read the barcodes you use.

2. Removable workstation for collecting the goods:

  • Laptop with a battery lasting at least half an hour, no power and operating system requirements, our practice shows that an old laptop with a new battery and Linux distribution optimized for computers with more modest resources is an ideal solution.
  • barcode reader – preferably cable-free.
  • Laptop cart with a place to carry the collected goods you can have it made for you, we can provide it too.
